Seems like all is not well for Abhishek Kapoor’s upcoming film Kedarnath as the movie has been put on hold after the director reportedly had a fallout with the producers of the film.
Kedarnath, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, has been put on hold as the director’s interference in the financial aspects and release of the film is a little too much for the producers to handle.
KriArj entertainment is gaining the reputation of backing some of the biggest blockbusters and the music giants had stepped in for Kapoor’s Kedarnath when the film had no potential producers. The production house backed Kapoor’s project because they believed in his vision and film. But as the shoots progressed, the equation between the director and the producers changed.
Kapoor aka Gattu is one of the most popular directors for his history of fallouts with prominent figures of industry throughout his professional career and he has once again landed himself in trouble with the producers of Kedarnath.
According to reports, the producers are not happy with Kapoor’s lack of professionalism and interference in financial aspects, which according to them is not the director’s concern.
“KriArj Entertainment and T-Series decided to come onboard since they believed in the film and in Abhishek Kapoor’s vision. However, as ‘Kedarnath’ unfolded, several issues pertaining the dates of the talent, prep time and delays in the film’s delivery began cropping up. Abhishek replaced several of the crew members and technicians at the very last minute. ‘Kedarnath’ was going way overbudget owing to Gattu’s constant unreasonable demands. He not only delayed the shoot of the film by six months but also majorly interfered in the film’s financial planning and overall business workings,” a source close to the film revealed.
So, for now the film is being put on hold and the fate of Kedarnath will only be known in the coming days.
