From facing the violent protests by fringe groups and mobsters to a long delay in getting approved by the Censor Board, the journey of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s most talked about movie Padmaavat has been full of unparalleled struggles and is still facing opposition in many states.
Padmaavat stands tall so far with a total collection of Rs 83 crore net, including paid previews.

Not only in India, Padmaavat is a blockbuster in other countries too, this is at least what we can see in Taran Adarsh’s post showing foreign collections of the movie. He tweeted, “AUSTRALIA Thu A$ 363,973 Fri A$ 537,530 Sat A$ 462,288 Total: A$ 1,363,791 [₹ 7.04 cr] @Rentrak UK-IRELAND Thu £ 115,710 Fri £ 184,977 Sat £ 234,841 [some locations yet to be updated] Total: £ 535,528 [₹ 4.82 cr]”
Regardless of the never-ending controversies surrounding the movie, Padmaavat has managed to sail through all the disturbances and the first three days box-office collections of its dramatic run are a strong evidence to prove it.
Critics and audiences have applauded the performances of the movie’s leading actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and the captivating visuals of the epic story.
