Umesh Shukla’s 102 Not Out starring veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor has fared well in the opening weekend by collecting Rs 16.65 crore.
The film, which opened to positive reviews from fans and critics, has proved out to be a game-changer at the box office. It performing strongly in the opening weekend in comparison to many films of 2018.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film showed strong growth on Day Three by earning Rs 7.6 crore thus taking the total collections to Rs 16.65 crore.
Despite the intense competition from Hollywood’s Avengers: Infinity War and Hansal Mehta’s acclaimed film, Omerta, 102 Not Out had one of the best openings in 2018.
Owing to its strong word of mouth publicity and the reunion of Big B and Rishi after almost 30 years, the film has considerably performed well in comparison to films like Aiyaary and Kaalakandi.
102 Not Out narrates the story of a 102-year-old father (Bachchan) and his 75-year-old son (Kapoor), and the former’s efforts to make his son go cool from old school.
Directed by Umesh Shukla (Oh My God fame), 102 Not Out, was released worldwide on May 4.
