Seeking support for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Bhopal Pragya Singh Thakur, Haryana minister Anil Vij on Friday said no Hindu can be a terrorist.
Taking to Twitter, Vij said the time has come to “take revenge of the wounds inflicted on Pragya Singh Thakur in the name of Hindu terror”.
“Vote and support Sadhvi Pragya,” he said, urging voters to avenge the “torture” she faced by the law enforcement agencies in the name of saffron terrorism. “Sadhvi Pragya ko mari gai ek-ek chot ka vote se badla lene ka time aa gaya hai,” Vij tweeted in Hindi.
In a statement, Vij said the BJP has fielded Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal against Congress’ Digvijay Singh who is the man behind the conspiracy to bring bade name to 100 crore Hindus in the name of saffron terrorism.
He said no Hindu can ever be a terrorist. Urging voters in Bhopal to vote against Singh, Vij said he was the man who brought bad name to Hindus by labelling them as terrorists. He said besides Singh, every Congress candidate in the country who holds similar views should be defeated in the Lok Sabha polls.
The BJP leader said it was a well-planned conspiracy to implicate Pragya, presently out on bail, as an accused in the 2008 Malegaon explosion case in which seven people were killed. He said it was time to pay back to the conspirators for the torture she was subjected to during her stay in jail for nine years.
Addressing a press conference in Bhopal on Thursday, 2008 Malegaon blast accused Pragya had broken down while recalling the “torture” she faced while in detention.
She said, “When they took me away illegally, they kept me for 13 days. On the first day itself, they started beating me. When they used to hit me with a belt, the entire nervous system used to go blank. They used to beat me day and night.”
She further added, “I never knew why they were beating me? The only reason which I later got to know was that they wanted me to say that I have carried out an explosion and killed Muslims. This was their politics. This was their act of sedition. This was their conspiracy to break the country,” she said.
“They kept asking me — You carried out those explosions. I said — I did not. Then they said that you are a terrorist. RSS is a terrorist organisation. I realised that Hindutva was being targeted,” she said.
