K Kavitha questions Modi’s silence on Adani US bribery indictment
Political opponents are arrested without evidence and put on trial for months while Mr Gautam Adani walks free despite repeated and grave allegations, she said.

Congress General Secretary Uttar Pradesh (East), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, on Tuesday, launched a vitriolic attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Priyanka, while addressing an election rally in Haryana’s Ambala, compared PM Modi to Duryodhana, the eldest of the Kauravas. She said that the PM is as arrogant and narcissistic as Duryodhana because he cannot see beyond himself. But PM Modi does not know that just like Duryodhana’s arrogance and narcissistic propensities were demolished, his (PM Modi’s) would be demolished too.
Priyanka quoted an excerpt from one of the poems of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, the celebrated poet who is hailed as the National Poet of India. She said, “Jab naash manuj par chaata hai, pehle vivek mar jata hai (when a person is destined to doom, then the first thing he loses is his wisdom).”

She said that the country has never tolerated arrogance and the people of India will prove it in the elections.

They (BJP) ask for votes in the names of the martyrs or humiliate my family members who sacrificed their lives for the country.
The PM had termed her late father Rajiv Gandhi as ‘bhrashtachari No 1 (corrupt number 1)’ at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh. She dared PM Modi to fight the elections on real issues facing the country, like development, jobs, women safety, farmers, agrarian crisis, and the issues promised in 2014. She exhorted people to be aware of the real issues.
She said that under BJP rule, the youth did not get jobs and till date, 24 lakh government posts were still lying vacant.
On the farmers’ issue, she said that they (BJP) had talked about doubling the income of farmers whereas they are completely neglected and more than 12,000 farmers were forced to commit suicide due to rising debts. Farmers are not getting paid for their crops on time, nor are they being provided with essential commodities.
Priyanka said Congress would bring easier GST for the traders who have suffered due to demonetization and the current GST presented by the Modi government.
