Congratulations poured in from across the globe as the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi got a historic mandate on Thursday to retain power in the world’s largest democracy. Presidents, prime ministers and leaders of several countries sent messages to Modi on BJP winning the Lok Sabha elections 2019 for a second term. Prominent among the world leaders who congratulated him included US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Pakistan PM Imran Khan, among others.
After addressing party workers acknowledging the massive electoral victory, Modi sat down to write individual replies to the leaders one by one. Modi thanked the leaders and said he was looking forward to working together.
