He was known as one of the most popular teachers of Journalism and Mass Communication subjects in the country.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU) School of Journalism and New Media Studies on Tuesday kicked off a new post-graduate (PG) diploma program in Journalism and mass communication. The diploma course will be available in online mode and in three languages — English, Hindi and Tamil.
As for the eligibility criterion for the course, a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is mandatory to enrol in the diploma programme. The course will be for the duration of one year for an annual fee of Rs 12,500.

Speaking about the programme, Dr Shikha Rai, the programme coordinator gave an overview of the programme and pointed out the details about the online programme. Other faculty members of the School were also present to mark the occasion.

Earlier, the IGNOU had launched a MA programme in environmental studies.
Through this programme, learners will be able to mark their knowledge and understanding of the physical, chemical and biological processes of the environment, to expose the learners with theoretical principles involved in air, water and soil pollution and monitoring systems, to emphasise the principles and practices involved in sustainable natural resources management and environmental management, and to impart knowledge and understanding in impact assessment, environmental audit and laws.
