"This study highlights the potential for recommending a single dose for previously infected individuals and may be useful for discussions surrounding vaccination strategy," the researchers said.
The findings suggest that among persons with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, full vaccination provides additional protection against re-infection. Partial vaccination was not significantly associated with re-infection, the study showed.
