The State has been consistently logging above 300 cases on a daily basis in the past one week.
The country's active caseload stands at 0.13 per cent, which was 0.14 per cent on Wednesday.
The State clocked 382 freshactive Covid-19 cases at a high7.1 percent test positivity TPR in the last 24 hours,said officials on Monday.
Fresh 11,692 covid-19 infections were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country, marking a dip from Thursday's tally of 12,591 cases.
The Health Ministry said, “Though VOCs and a new double mutant variant have been found in India, these have not been detected in numbers sufficient to either establish a direct relationship or explain the rapid increase in cases in some states.”
According to the Health Ministry, Maharashtra, Punjab and Gujarat are turning out to be a major cause of worry as the three states are recording the highest daily new coronavirus cases.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)’s Covid-19 Guidelines for April, issued today, emphasised the need “to strictly follow the prescribed containment strategy, and strictly observe the guidelines/SOPs issued by MHA and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MOHFW) and other Ministries/Departments of the Central Government and State/UT Governments."
