Youth charred to death in North East Delhi factory fire

According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a fire related call from the factory situated near the Mansarovar Park Metro station was received. Based on the complaint, five fire tenders were rushed to the site to bring the flames under control.

A 25-year-old man was charred to death when fire broke out in a factory in the Mansarovar Park area of North East Delhi, where he was working, a fire official said on Thursday.

According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a fire related call from the factory situated near the Mansarovar Park Metro station was received. Based on the complaint, five fire tenders were rushed to the site to bring the flames under control.

The fire originated from a 50 square yard store room on the second floor of the three storey building housing wireless phones. The charred body of the victim was found after the fire was doused, the DFS added.

The deceased has been identified as Ajeet, who used to work in the manufacturing unit. His body was handed over to the police by the firefighters.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained while an investigation into the matter has been initiated, a police official said, adding that the workers and owner of the factory are being questioned.

Moreover, the cops are also finding out if the building had a NOC from the Fire Department.
