BJP takes swipe at ‘CID probe’ into missing samosas meant for CM Sukhu
Even as the state government and the CID deny any probe into the vanishing of samosas, a storm is brewing, with the opposition BJP mocking the alleged CID probe.
The Uttarakhand government is facing sharp criticism from the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) for withdrawing public holidays-mostly on Hindu festival days.
The Trivendra Rawat government has decided to end public holidays on Raksha Bandhan, Karva Chauth, Bhai Dooj, Holika Dahan, Govardhan Puja and Jamat-ul-Vida.
As five withdrawn festival, in which public holiday have been cancelled, are celebrated by Hindus- the right wing Hindu group has turned violent. The VHP will be starting its protest from Monday in Uttarakhand.

Sanjay, VHP’s regional secretary (organisation), said, “We feel the decision is an attack to Hindus. Will we submit memoranda at the Tehsil level in entire Uttarakhand from Monday. It does not make any difference, which party is in power. We will protest even if the BJP is wrong.”
