Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, a clean cooking gas initiative, so far 5.17 lakh households have been provided with free LPG gas connections in Haryana.
Haryana minister of state for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Karan Dev Kamboj said the remaining households would also be provided with gas connections by 31 March, 2020, in the state.

While replying to a question in the Haryana Assembly, he said that the state government would provide gas connection to all the remaining households.
According to the data of Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC), the number of eligible families is 13.53 lakh, of which 5.17 lakh families have been provided with gas connections, the minister said.
He said that about 13,000 families have applied for gas connection and they would soon be provided with gas connection.
Besides this, the state government has provided 1.56 lakh families with free gas connections from the state budget, whereas others have been provided free gas connections from Central government.
Under this, the customer is exempted to pay the security amount of Rs 1,600 for gas cylinder, whereas he or she only has to pay for filling the gas cylinder.
Strict action would be taken, if any officer is found taking security amount for gas cylinder, he added.
