Rajasthan records sixth dengue death
Six people have died in Rajasthan due to dengue this year which includes a 14-year-old boy who lost his life to vector-borne disease on Monday.
Two BSF troopers have died of dengue while a senior Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader was diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease in West Bengal, a border guards official said on Thursday.
BSF Head Constable Abhay Kumar, attached to the 82nd battalion in Malda, was admitted to the Malda Medical College and Hospital on November 12 and then shifted to a private health facility in the district after his condition deteriorated.
He developed respiratory distress, and died on Wednesday following multi-organ failure and cardiac arrest at the CCU, a BSF spokesperson said.

Another BSF trooper Head Constable V. Bala Naik, posted in Krishnanagar, died in a private hospital here on November 12 after being diagnosed with dengue.
Meanwhile, Left Front legislature party leader Sujan Chakraborty was admitted to a private hospital here after his blood tests found him dengue positive.
