Speaking to reporters in Puducherry today, Dhinakaran said that vital decisions to recapture the party and its symbol from wrong people all be taken on the birth anniversary of AIADMK founder and former Tamil Nadu chief minister M G Ramachandran. When asked if a new party would be in that decisions, he retorted that whatever is needed to retrieve the party, would be taken according to the wishes of one and half crore party cadres.

Though Dinakaran was sidelined and the EPS-OPS duo took control of the party following a rebellion after Sasikala has been jailed, nobody expected him launching a new party instead of trying to recapture the AIADMK control, even after he has been elected from RK Nagar constituency beating official party candidate.
