On the complaint, a case under sections 323, 342, and 34 of the IPC has been registered at Mehrauli police station on Wednesday and an investigation has been taken up.

Police sources said that the 22-year-old victim hails from Vrindavan, Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. In her statement to the police, she stated that she was addicted to sleeping pills, and to get rid of it, her father admitted her to the de-addiction center named Shanti Ratan Foundation, located in the Chattarpur area of South Delhi, on March 23 this year.

After several months of treatment, she recovered from her addiction and got discharged from the center on October 29.

According to the victim, at the time of discharge, one accused Inder, working in the said de-addiction center, had told her that she can come and stay at the center for free whenever she wants. After which she went to meet Muskan, the woman in charge of the ward.

It is alleged that after staying there for two days, the victim was suddenly held hostage and locked in the ladies’ staff room. On enquiry, she was told that her father had gotten her admitted to the center again.

Later, in the name of treatment, she was forced to sleep on the floor in the cold, food was stopped, she was forced to do all the work at the center and clean drains, and she was made to stand on her knees for hours and sit on pointed bricks.

Moreover, they forcefully put a toilet brush and mop in her mouth.
Not only this, on November 13, Muskaan, Vanshika, Khushi and Inder caught hold of the victim and thrashed her badly with sticks and kicks and forced her to go for prostitution at night.

She was badly beaten and harassed for refusing to do it. It is claimed that the victim’s ear was badly injured due to the beating.

However, on November 22, while talking to her father on the phone, the victim told him the truth. After knowing about the incident, her father came to the center and took her to the local police station, where she made a complaint regarding the incident.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South District, Chandan Chaudhary said that a police team is working on the case and suitable action will be taken once.
