Former student thanks Rajkot school owner, sends ‘parcel bomb’ in gift box
The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad destroyed the bomb early Wednesday morning in a 'controlled blast', the police said.
Ashish Sahu, ex-employee of the postal department, who was sacked in 2017 for alleged embezzlement, was arrested by police on Friday in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar as he allegedly tried to kill a senior official by sending a parcel bomb.
According to a report in the Indian Express, postal superintendent K K Dixit received a parcel containing an FM radio. On Thursday, Dixit’s son Ritesh plugged the radio in after which it exploded and injured him critically.
While Dixit escaped unhurt, one of his relatives and a servant, sustained injuries.

Dixit was not at his office when the parcel was delivered. Therefore, assistant superintendent accepted the parcel and sent it to Dixit’s home.
During the course of investigation, Rajesh Patel (23) and Moolchand Luhar (33) told the police that they were given money by Ashish Sahu for sending the parcel to Dixit’s home, reported the Indian Express.
The report further added that as per the Sagar SP Satyendra Shukla, Sahu has admitted to sending the parcel bomb and also that his intention was to kill Dixit. Internet helped him in learning the technique of making a bomb.
