The state Congress on Friday stepped up its ‘Hisab Dey Sansad’ programme on Friday, questioning the Bharatiya Janata Party MPs in Himachal Pradesh on their performance over four years.

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP MPs in the state at Dadasibha in Jaswan Pragpur constituency in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) Chief, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu targeted the BJP governments in the state and centre strongly. He said ‘mafia raj’ was ruling the roost in the area under BJP rule

Accorded warm welcome by party workers, Sukhu told the Congress men to pull their socks for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He said the BJP may have to face defeat in every by-poll now.

The Congress Chief said Jaswan Pragpur fell in Kangra district, but was a part of Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat.

“BJP MP Anurag Thakur has been ignoring this area. He had been politicising the issue of Central University for long, but has not been able to get its campus established even after four years of NDA rule,”

Sukhu said. “Is the delay because of internal rift of the BJP leaders on the issue,” he asked.

Sukhu said the proposal of railway line from Una to Talwar was still buried in files, despite the fact that the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had been talking about the issue in his rallies before polls. “Had the rail line come up, it would have given boost to industry and the resultant employment,” he said.

The Congress leader said the Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency is ruled by BJP MPs for long, but Jaswan Pragpur never got any project,” he said.

The state Congress President asked Anurag Thakur on the money allocated by centre for his Lok Sabha constituency in past four years and the projects he brought for development of this area from the NDA government. He held the MP had failed to come up to the expectations of people and will face defeat in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

“People had given full mandate to the BJP in 2014 Parliament polls, but it failed to perform.

PM Modi forgot his poll promises immediately after assuming power in 2014. His governance has rather increased the problems of the common man. The constitutional bodies have lost sanctity in Modi rule,” he said.

Sukhu said Modi government had failed to curb corruption and influential people were running from the country after scams.
