Himachal Pradesh Guv exhorts for adopting skill development courses for self-employment
“Along with academics, the youth should be pushed towards skill development so that they could get more self-employment opportunities,” said Shiv Pratap Shukla.
Governor Acharya Devvrat on Sunday said a sports academy would be set up in Himachal Pradesh for talented and deprived children so that the talent in sports could be used for raising grandeur in the world of sports.
Addressing the all India Sports Federation Award Ceremony 2018 at New Delhi, he said the Academy would be established in public-private partnership made with combined efforts of sportsmen, NGOs and the government.
“The Academy would take shape soon as process of identifying suitable land has already begun in the state,” he said while asking the office bearers of all 36 federations to launch talent hunt programme in the country so that best sports persons could be groomed to represent country at national and international level.

He said it was necessary that the energy of youths was channelized for nation building activities.
He commended efforts of coaches who guided and turned youth into best sportspersons especially in Haryana.
He lauded contributions of ChaudharySampurn Singh and Raj Kumar Verma for their contribution in social activities and now for sports academy.
As many as, 100 office bearers of 36 sports federations, of the Country participated in the function.
