Rural Livelihood Mission in 25 more Haryana blocks

With a view to make women more empowered and self-reliant in the state, the Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission (HSRLM) would be implemented in additional 25 blocks during 2017-18.

While presiding over meeting of executive committee of HSRLM on Friday, Chief Secretary, DS Dhesi said that adding 25 more blocks, now, the Mission would cover 68 blocks of the state.

The blocks which have been included in HSRLM this year are Kairu of Bhiwani district, Bahadurgarh of Jhajjar district, Pundri and Kalayat of Kaithal district, Firozpur Jhirka of Mewat district, Hisar-2 and Uklana of Hisar district, Tohana and Bhuna of Fatehabad district, Assandh and Nilokheri of Karnal district, Raipur Rani of Panchkula district, Sampla of Rohtak district and Narwana of Jind district.

Similarly, Ambala-II and Barara of Ambala district, Radaur of district Yamunanagar, Nahar of Rewari district, Hathin of Palwal district, Shahbad of Kurukshetra district, Sihma of Mahendragarh district, Ganaur of Sonepat district, Madlauda of Panipat district, Pataudi of Gurugram district and Dadri-I of Charkhi Dadri district have been included in the Mission.

During the meeting, it was informed that the state government had carried out credit linkage of 2,975 Self Help Groups (SHGs) during 2016-17 whereas the Central government had fixed the target of credit linkage of 2,500 SHGs.

As many as 3,550 SHGs and 150 village organisations were formed in 2016-17. It was also informed that Deendayal Upadhyaya-Grameen Kaushalya Yojana was being implemented by the Mission in the state to impart skill training and provide placements of youth. Under this scheme of the Mission, poor youth in rural areas was being imparted skill training free of cost, for which 11 project implementation agencies were imparting training.

Under this scheme, the Central government has set a target to provide training to about 32,687 youth and the HSRLM has so far provided training to 24,000 youth, of which employment had been provided to 5,237.
