Redevelopment work planned at Subzi Mandi Railway Station of Delhi Division: Official

Many redevelopment initiatives have been planned at the Subzi Mandi Railway Station of Delhi Division under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ scheme, an official said on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the re-development work at 508 railway stations on August 6, 2023. The re-development work has been envisaged to provide state-of-the-art facilities to passengers with all modern amenities.

According to an official from Northern Railway,14 stations of Delhi Division are being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme — Sonipat, Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Subzi Mandi, Jind Jn, Rohtak, Pataudi Road, Bahadurgarh, Delhi Cantt , Shamli, Narela, Mansa, Faridabad and Narwana Jn.

The work planned at the Subzi Mandi Railway Station includes development of station building façade, provision of separate building porch, provision of cafeteria and One Station-One Product (OSOP) stall in station building, development of waiting hall, toilets & other passenger amenities, development of circulating area and parking, separate entry and exit movement for traffic movement in circulating area, improvement of platform surfacing and existing shelters roofing, development of additional platform shelters over existing platforms, provision of modern LED based façade lighting arrangement, decorative pole in circulating area.

The other work includes LED-based building contour lighting, provision of glance display board mono color, provision of GPS-based platform clock, provision of LED TV at executive/reserved Lounge/VIP room, augmentation of passenger announcement system, covering of signal and telecom cables on cable trays and construction new 12 mtr wide Foot Over Bridge.

Six escalators and four lifts will also be provided. The approximate cost of these re-development work is Rs 27 crore.

Sukhvinder Singh, Divisional Railway Manager Delhi said, “At present, consultancy and work contracts have been awarded, Master Plan/Concept Plan and Circulating Plans are under finalization and Centralized fabrications of Steel Girders for Foot Over Bridge are being done.”
