The real estate developers in Odisha have urged upon the government to remove hurdles and bottlenecks in rules and facilitate infrastructure development.

At a recently held workshop, the All Odisha Developers body CREDAI shared their awful experiences with RERA authority. Founder member D S Tripathy explained the situation prevailing in the state after promulgation of RERA Act.

He quoted examples of wilful harassment in matters relating to in-ordinate delay in registration of projects, RERA confusion on old projects and ongoing project, inappropriate fees levied in case of Power of Attorney., problems of Block & panchayat level projects etc.

He said RERA rules of states like Maharastra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Uttar Pradesh and said how projects completed before promulgation of RERA Act having civic infrastructure facilities are not taken into the ambit of ‘on going’ projects.

He demanded Odisha RERA to adopt the same rules. Among others Sofia Firdosh, Anil Agarwal, Prasanna Padhy, Ajit Mangaraj, Jitu Mohapatra took part in deliberations and spoke on common problems in Real Estate and Infrastructure Development sector.

Madhu Mohanty and the outgoing president Mr. Binay Krishna Das, called upon all the builders to unite and raise issues at appropriate forum. Mr D S Tripathy was unanimously nominated as chairman and Mr Binay Krishna Das as the Vice Chairman of the state confederation.
