“We distributed free dustbins to all the shopkeepers in Raiganj under the Nirmal Bangla Mission. Our aim is to make Raiganj garbage free. We distributed hundreds of dustbins on Thursday and we will be distributing more in the next few days,”
Municipality Chairman Sandip Biswas said. “In the meantime, we have ordered shopkeepers to not throw garbage near their shops or on the roads. Our workers will be collecting the garbage regularly in the morning. We have also convinced traders against displaying their goods on the pavements which is causing problems for pedestrians,” he added.
