A day after the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) held ‘Tiranga march’ from Ramjas College to Faculty of Arts on Monday, students from several DU colleges marched against Ramjas College violence.

Police forces and security were heightened around the Delhi University campus to contain any aggravated situation.

Earlier in the day, Gurmehar Kaur, a Delhi University student whose social media campaign against Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad  (ABVP) went viral, announced her withdrawal from the campaign on Tuesday.

“I am withdrawing from the campaign. Congratulations everyone. I request to be left alone. I said what I had to say,” Kaur tweeted.

"I have been through a lot and this is all my 20 year self could take," a Kargil martyr’s daughter said.

"The campaign is about students and not about me. Please go to the March in huge numbers. Best of luck," she added.

"To anyone questioning my courage and bravery. I've shown more than enough."

The ABVP members on Monday protested against Left student groups for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities.

Ramjas College on February 22 witnessed violent clashes between members of the ABVP and the All India Students Association (AISA). The ABVP carried out the protest against an event invite to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid, accused in sedition case last year for an event in the college.

Professors and students of the college were injured during the clashes.
