Tea Board sets 2025 plucking and making timeline
Tea Board of India has announced that tea plucking and manufacturing for the 2025 cropping season will commence only after winter dormancy ends, allowing tea bushes to sprout fresh buds.
Additional Chief Secretary, Forests, Tarun Kapoor has asked the officials to take measures to prevent forest fires and direct the field staff to be alert.
Kapoor asked them to seek cooperation from local people and organizations to combat such incidents.

The state is witness to forest fires in summer months, especially in Pine forests as the pine needles are highly volatile.

He said that in each forest circle, one big nursery was being raised this year in which apart from forestry, fodder trees would be raised which would further be provided to the local people as per their needs. He also stressed the need to raise local species in these nurseries.
