Not even a single nomination has so far been filed for the municipality seats of Hajin in North Kashmir that recently witnessed a chain of kidnappings and killings by terrorists.
Confirming this, Shahid Chaudhary, deputy commissioner of Bandipora, said that no candidate has so far filed nomination for Sumbal and Hajin municipalities that will go to polls in the second and third phase respectively.

Polling for urban local bodies will be held in four phases beginning 8 October.

Meanwhile defying the boycott call of terrorists and separatists, several candidates of BJP, Congress and independents filed their papers on Wednesday for the 25-member municipal council of Anantnag in South Kashmir.
A couple of women have also jumped into the fray in South Kashmir, which is a hot bed of terrorism.
