Tuberculosis (TB) patients in Haryana will now be given nutritional support of Rs 500 per month during treatment of the disease.
The health minister, Anil Vij said in order to make the state TB-free, the government would provide nutritional support of Rs 500 per month during treatment to every notified TB patient with effect from 1 April through direct benefit transfer (DBT).
An incentive of Rs 1,000 would be given to private providers for managing TB patients on the notification till treatment outcome through DBT, he said.
The minister said Haryana is committed to put an end to the menace of TB by 2025 and would provide above special benefits for this.
Besides, free services would be provided to TB patients in all government hospitals of Haryana, including sputum examination and X-Ray. For this purpose, CBNAAT machines have been provided in all districts for more accurate and quick diagnosis.
In a united move to end TB with motto “TB Harega-Desh Jeetega (TB will lose and the nation will win)”, Vij urged the people to come forward as leaders for making the world TB-free.
