Mercury rises by 2 degrees in Delhi
The national capital saw a surge of 2 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature in the past 24-hours on Monday, the weather department said.
According to official information, the council is aiming to collect data on trees, locations with geo coordination and providing access through mobile apps and web portal to the public and students.
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is all set to develop a New Delhi Green Digital Experience Centre at Nehru Park to share digitally detailed information on plants and trees with visitors.
A senior official in NDMC said, “The council will develop a New Delhi Green Digital Experience Centre at Nehru Park to facilitate visitors to have digital information related to layout, trees, plants, their importance, and vertical gardens, birds, butterflies, a different feature seasonal dynamism, nursery operations, composting, STPs and all.”

Information on 100 heritage/ rare/unique/bio-diversified trees in Lodhi Gardens has already been made available through QR code scanning, which provides details of a tree, including its age, lifespan, botanical name, common name, blooming season among others.
“The QR code is a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing web-links or other information for reading by camera or a smart-phone,” explained the official.
The council will also develop fine theme gardens such as herbal garden, topiary garden, cacti, succulents garden, fine garden, Brielle garden, etc.
