Special cleanliness drive by NDMC
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has launched a special cleanliness drive with an aim at ensuring cleanliness in market areas under its jurisdiction.
Residents of the municipal corporation area can deposit their property tax dues till February 28 next year by getting a 100 per cent waiver on interest amount and penalty.
The North Delhi civic body NDMC has reported grossing Rs.15.29
crores in demonetised currency in last eight days for dues settlement on property
tax and other charges.
“The civic body (NDMC) received Rs 6.79 crore as
property tax, Rs.6.50 crore as conversion charges and Rs.2 crore as parking
license fees settlement, thus earning a total of Rs.15.29 crores from November
11 to November 18,” Mayor Sanjeev Nayyar of North Delhi Municipal
Corporation said.

He expressed hope that NDMC will earn a good amount of
revenue since the last date to receive old denominations of Rs.500 and Rs.1,000
is November 24, and the municipal corporation has announced an amnesty scheme
for property tax defaulters.

Those who do so by March will get 100 per cent rebate on
penalty and 50 per cent waiver on interest amount, he said.
