A portion of a bridge caved in at the Andheri station in Mumbai on Tuesday morning following incessant rain, affecting the railway traffic.
The Gokhale bridge connecting Andheri East and Andheri West stations is used by thousands of commuters every day. The overhead wires were also affected by the collapse.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties as search operations.

The Mumbai Police said Fire Brigade as well as Railway Protection Force staff and officers had been deputed on the spot.
The traffic above and under the bridge has been stopped for the time being. With work on removing the debris from the WR tracks blocking services in both directions, traffic jam has been reported from the area.

According to reports, firemen are trying to see if anyone is trapped in the debris.
The police said commuters travelling from Andheri East to West were advised to follow Bisleri junction- Teli Galli – Surve Chowk – Andheri subway – S V road.
With trains on the western line halted, officials said this could impact railway traffic later in the day.
Mumbai’s dabbawalas have suspended all their tiffin box deliveries on the WR routes.
