Five policemen including SHO of Partapur police station have been suspended for failing to discharge their duties in case of double murder of a son and mother who were supposed to appear in the court for testimony in a murder case on Thursday.

In a late night action one of the three accused Tarun alias Goolu have been arrested while raids are being conducted to nab rest of the assialants, told SSP Manzil Saini. 60-year-old Nachhatar Kaur and her son Balwinder (26) were brutally shot dead by three assailants in Sorkha village of Partapur police station on Wednesday.

The assialants first shot dead Bal- winder , about 200 metres from his house and than they killed his mother who was lying down outside in a charpoy .

The whole incident of brutality was caught in the CCTV cameras installed by her son in view of their safety as the family was facing threat to their lives . Nachhatar was scheduled to testify in court on Thursday in a case of her husband’s murder in October 2016, to which she and her son were the witnesses .

Shyodar of the same village and their relative was booked in the case of murder of her husband and she was supposed to appear in the court as a witness .

They were receiving threats to their lives warning not to appear in the court but the mother and son refused to bow down to the enemies threats.

Instead Balwinder approached the Partapur police for safety but they gave a deaf ear to his complaints . Finally both the mother and son were killed. Narendra Singh, who was allegedly shot dead by a close relative for not supporting him in the panchayat election in 2016 in connection of which Shyodar was arrested and booked in the case.

The sources claim that one of the accused Maange is brother of Shyodar while rest of the two are Varun and Tarun of whom Tarun has been arrested .

The killers were identified on the basis of the CCTV footage which became viral on the social media after the incident. Partapur police station SHO Raghuraj Singh said that the incident was the fallout of an enmity which started a few years ago during the election of the village pradhan.

Singh was later suspended by the SSP along- with SSI and there constables for failing to provide security to the deceased.
