Himachal Govt should withdraw Guest Teacher Policy: Jai Ram Thakur
Leader of Oppostion and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while slamming the Guest Teacher Policy, on Monday said that the state government cannot be allowed to act arbitarily.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the government would make efforts to create and develop mountain biking tracks in Himachal Pradesh as the state has a lot of potential for mountain biking.
Addressing the closing ceremony of a mountain biking event here, he said mountain biking was not only one of the largest adventure sports in the world in term of revenue generation but it was environmental friendly as well.

“Efforts would be made to promote virgin tourist destinations in the state with special emphasis on promotion of adventure sports,” he said.

Thakur said such initiatives would go a long way in encouraging the localities of Shimla town to greener and healthier lifestyle.
He said the government was committed to promote adventure sports in the state as it would help in environmental conservation.
“Himalayas are the most beautiful but difficult mountains of the world and challenging them with bicycles was indeed commendable,” he said.
He said that the mountain bikes provide diverse activities to the tourists visiting the state.
