Himachal Assembly approves stringent amendments in Excise Act
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu introduced the bill for discussion on Thursday, stressing the need to address the growing challenges related to the illicit liquor trade.

Legislators from three states of Haryana, Jammu Kashmir and Gujarat on Sunday got knowhow of National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) which would convert transform the system of paper laying in assemblies across the country.

The training session was held during the workshop of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India region- IV which was inaugurated by Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Saturday.

HP assembly speaker Rajiv Bindal detailed about e-Constituency Management application launched by Himachal and briefed about it benefits.
“The legislators can effectively manage their constituencies and also monitor the efficiency and transparency in the works carried in their respective areas,” Bindal added.
On Saturday, the legislators, which included the Speakers, Deputy Speakers as well, were given a presentation the functioning of e-Vidhan system of Himachal Assembly. The HP Assembly is the first one in the country to go on line in 2014 and is every year saving Rs 15 crore, along with the environment, by going paper.
