Delhi police have started investigating the case.
In 2016, a first-year MSc student at JNU, Najeeb Ahmed, went missing under mysterious circumstances after he allegedly got into a fight with members of the RSS-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP). After the Delhi police failed to make any breakthrough, the case was transferred to the CBI.
