BJP already accepted defeat in Maha polls, Modi left the battlefield: Congress

A day after BJP announced its second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, senior party leader AP Jithender Reddy, who was denied a ticket, met Telangana Chief Minister and state Congress President A Revanth Reddy at the latter’s residence.
The BJP nominated party’s Vice-President DK Aruna from the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat. Jithender Reddy’s meeting with the chief minister prompted speculations about his imminent defection.
Revanth Reddy’s own Assembly constituency, Kodangal, comes under the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat.

Meanwhile, BRS MLA Ch Malla Reddy met deputy Chief Minister and PCC President of Karnataka DK Shivakumar, along with his son Bhadra. Barely a week ago, he had met KCR and had denied his intentions to jump ship. However, after the meeting, Malla Reddy denied that he was considering joining the Congress and said he met DK over his business interests.
AP Jithender Reddy had won from Mahabubnagar twice in the past, once in 1994 for the BJP and in 2014 for the TRS. However, after then TRS denied him the ticket, he jumped ship and joined the BJP.
His son was nominated from the Mahabubnagar Assembly constituency for the Telangana Assembly elections by the BJP. He has been expecting a ticket for the Mahabubnagar seat and has even expressed the same on social media platforms.
