Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) has announced the launch of online application of birth and death certificates.
“The new initiative will save significant time of the citizens as they need not travel to the MCG office for such applications and can avail this facility from the comfort of their home. MCG will also courier these certificates to the applicants address and also bear the cost of the same,” medical officer, MCG, Dr Ashish Singla, informed on Tuesday.

He said earlier the facility of online applications was available only in birth and death cases received from hospitals. Hospitals used to share the birth and death record details from their hospitals with MCG online. Now this facility is also available for birth and death cases from home.
The online application can be made by clicking on the ‘Birth and death application’ icon available on the MCG website www. mcg. gov. in. In case of any objection, the applicant will be informed by MCG through an SMS on the applicant’s mobile number, so that the applicant can address that objection.
Singla added that once the death and birth certificates are ready, MCG will send them to the applicant’s address through speed post. Applicant won’t be charged anything for the speed post or the first copy of the death and birth certificates.
Accordingly to the MCG Commissioner, V Umashankar, this facility will immensely benefit the citizens, as they won’t be required to come to MCG office for the birth and death application. MCG has already made information about property tax and its payment online. Over 70 percent citizens are availing the benefit of the online property tax payment.
