The victim’s father, who is in his late 50s, took his daughter to a fair in Kamlapur area and after a while, they were joined by a friend of the accused, Maan Singh. The two men then took the woman to the residence of their friend Meraj. She was locked and raped for nearly 18 hours by all three of them at Meraj’s home.
The victim somehow managed to escape and reached home. She narrated her ordeal to her mother and then lodged a complaint.
While one of the accused has been arrested, the woman’s father and another accused are absconding, said Singh.
“The woman has a son. She married almost 20 years ago but was separated from her husband and was living with her father ever since,” the police officer said.
In November last year, the woman’s father was accused by the village panchayat of having an illicit relationship with his daughter. He was arrested but released on bail in February.
