A Malda based railway guard and a writer in English, Ashok Kumar Haldar, was felicitated today by the Malda Book Fair Committee for his new philosophical writing named, “The Radical Change of Human Society and with Its Scientific Observation” which has already been added to the collection of the Malda District Library.
Mr Haldar, among thirty authors and only from West Bengal, was also recently awarded with ‘The great national panther national award’ by Raja Harishchandra golden trust in Maharashtra. This is to be noted that Mr Haldar is also a social worker and the state general secretary of the Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy.

His two other previous works were added to the digital version of Kolkata National Library. From an early childhood he had an inclination towards philosophy and writings which he want to continue even after his retirement from the service of railways, as he expressed.
Today in a function at the book fair, the district library officer, Mananjay Roy and the librarian, Shambhunath Bhattacharya, along with other dignitaries of the district literary arena felicitated him for his contributions to English literature.
An exuberant Mr Haldar said, “Such recognition inspires me more to work relentlessly for the collective wellness of the humanity as a whole.”
