A low intensity earthquake jolted Himachal Pradesh on Sunday at 3.36 am, said the India Meteorological Office.
According to MET department, the earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale struck the state capital Shimla at a depth of 5 km.
The epicentre of the quake was Shimla region, bordering Kinnaur district, which shares a border with China. Tremors were felt in Kinnaur, Solan, Mandi, Kullu and Bilaspur. There was no report of any damage or casualty in any of the places.
Officials said that this was a low intensity quake between Level II and III.
This is the second quake in three days to have struck Himachal. On 14 June, an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit Chamba district, adjoining Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the USGS, the epicentre of the quake was near Dalhousie at a depth of 10 km.
