Fire inside house: Retired DSP, 5 others of family die of asphyxiation in J&K
Six persons of a family, including two children, died of asphyxiation when a fire erupted in a house in Jammu's Kathua early Wednesday, officials said.
Police said Bakarwal died on the spot, while his daughter and uncle were injured and shifted to a hospital.
A 50-year-old man was killed and two others were injured when they were struck by lightning in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said Saturday.
Farooq Ahmad Bakarwal, his daughter Rafia and uncle Abdullah were hit by the lightning inside their house at Kun Darorian village in the Katra area around midnight, a police official said.

He said Bakarwal died on the spot, while his daughter and uncle were injured and shifted to a hospital. More details awaited.
