Listing out the achievements of the double-engine government in the state, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party during his visit to Ambedkar Nagar. The Chief Minister said that the leaders in the previous governments nurtured mafias to make a fast buck.
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 4,977 development projects worth Rs 2,122 crore at the Civil Line Ground, Ambedkar Nagar. Enumerating the development works of the double-engine government, the Chief Minister said, “Before 2017, mafias used to capture land in Ambedkar Nagar, but today no mafia can seize land or harass girls because they know that Yamraj (God of Death) has laid a trap for them at the next intersection.”
CM Yogi was supported vociferously by the people on the actions taken by his government against the dreaded mafias and gangsters in the state. Stressing the role of the double-engine government in ‘curing’ mafias in UP, the CM asserted that his government would never tolerate anyone depriving the poor and the underprivileged of their right to live.
Additionally, the CM inspected the exhibition organised at the event venue. He inaugurated two private industrial development projects here. He also conducted a feeding programme for children and talked to some of them about their education. He honored beneficiaries of various schemes, including investors, in Ambedkar Nagar.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the construction of the Ram Temple was unimaginable in Ayodhya during the tenure of the Samajwadi Party government. He added: “These people wanted to change the name of your district as well. They even rechristened Kannauj Medical College, which was named after Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. We have decided to restore its original name. Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar was the architect of the Constitution and there could be no compromise on the name of the college.”
“The Samajwadi Party is anti-Dalit. This is the same party that caused the Guest House scandal and called for the removal of memorials built in the name of great Dalit leaders, but the double-engine government built Panch Teerth in the name of Baba Saheb. Our government has provided housing to 4 crore people. We provided houses for both the poor and devotees and also got the Ram Temple built in Ayodhya,” Yogi added.
The CM further said that people here are the beneficiaries of housing, tablets, appointment letters, and other development schemes, among others. Had there been no double-engine government in the state, 56 lakh poor people in UP would not have been able to get houses, he asserted.
“The Samajwadi Party failed to provide these benefits due to the ongoing tussle between ‘chacha and bhatija’, the Chief Minister remarked. He said that as soon as they would get elected, the family’s extortion business would resume and people would again be deprived of the benefits of public welfare schemes. “Today, every needy person is getting the benefits of poor welfare schemes without any discrimination.”
The CM remarked that when the government prioritises public welfare, initiatives like these materialise with ease. Conversely, when individuals in power solely concentrate on their family interests rather than the public’s, corruption taints welfare schemes aimed at the impoverished. He pointed out that prior to 2014 nationwide, and before 2017 in Uttar Pradesh specifically, the government neglected the needs of the poor, focusing solely on personal and familial gains. “Modi ji emphasises that the 1.4 billion people of India are my family. The public is my family; we are committed to ensuring their security and prosperity,” Yogi said.
The CM said that certificates were issued to two entrepreneurs of Ambedkar Nagar for setting up industries. Ambedkar Nagar received investment proposals worth over Rs 6,000 crore. This means that direct and indirect employment will be available to 10,000 people here. The amount of development work done has never happened before.
“The central and the state governments have been working together for the past ten and seven years, respectively. This has resulted in a continuous flow of investment in the state, which, in turn, has ensured overall development, employment opportunities, and providing benefits of welfare schemes to the poor. Our endeavour is focused on enhancing the pace of development manifold,” the CM added.
Describing Ambedkar Nagar as a neighboring district, the CM said that the Gorakhpur Link Expressway is passing through Ambedkar Nagar. “As a developed UP is necessary for a developed India, a developed Ambedkar Nagar is necessary for a developed UP, and the double-engine government is necessary for a developed Ambedkar Nagar. Goddess Lakshmi always sits on the lotus. Her blessings are necessary for the Modi government”, Yogi remarked.
The CM further informed that the foundation stone of a Nursing College has also been laid in the Ambedkar Nagar Medical College. This will provide facilities for further education to girls in courses like BSc and MSc Nursing.
