The zoo of a famous tourist destination Kufri will be upgraded with a state-of-the-art 3-D theatre.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Governing Board of Himachal Pradesh Zoos and Conservation Breeding Society (HPZCBS), held here under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, Forests Tarun Kapoor.
The decision is a part of the move to maintain and strengthen zoo conditions in the state and also to provide public with the latest information about the flagship species of Himachal Pradesh.
It was also decided to further provide public amenities in all the zoos of the state.
The Board also decided in principle to go ahead with the in situ release of both the cheer and the western tragopan pheasants from Chail and Sarahan peasantries respectively.
DFO Wild Life Shimla, Hamirpur, Kullu, Sarahan and Chamba presented the works done in their respective zoos or pheasantries in the previous years.
To further the attempts it was decided to enhance the user experience through introduction of Audio Video Aids and better souvenir shop in all the zoos.
The Board along with invitee members of the field like from Chhatbir Zoo (Punjab) decided to strengthen the feeding of all the animals of the zoos so that they get best quality feed which is nutritionally balanced from the local markets.
