The city of joy is in for a treat this Sunday, 12 January as the EIMG Concours d’Elegance 2025 arrives at The Lake Club, marking a spectacular parade of motoring heritage.

It’s the fourth edition of the event, jointly presented by The Eastern India Motoring Group in association with The Lake Club and ACE Commercial, featuring 90 restored heritage vehicles, a visual feast for enthusiasts of vintage automobiles.

The picturesque lawns of The Lake Club, with the serene Rabindra Sarobar as a backdrop, provide the perfect stage for this annual celebration of automotive elegance. Under the clear January skies, the venue will transform into a hub of nostalgia and sophistication, drawing both car aficionados and curious onlookers.

Event Highlights

This year’s lineup boasts a dazzling array of rare and iconic vehicles, including several Rolls-Royces that will grace the venue like jewels. Among the standout participants are:

– 1925 AC Royal: Owned by Yogesh Agarwalla, this century-old beauty has been a beloved part of Kolkata’s rally scene since 1968.

– 1938 Rolls-Royce 25/30: Tamalika Naha’s showstopper Rolls-Royce is back at the Concours after taking home the coveted Best of Show award last year.

– 1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe: Once owned by legendary singer Hemanta Mukhopadhyay, this car, lovingly nicknamed ‘Nilu,’ has been maintained by the Lahiri family with great care.

– 1948 Bentley Mark 6: To be presented as a Concours debutant from Azam Monem, this incredibly rare beauty sure looks set to blow minds.

– 1937 Ford 7W10: Saurjya Pratim Mitra’s fabulous gem of restoration returns this year to impress audiences with all new highlights.

– 1938 Adler: Former top cop Gadai Chandra Dey owned this car. It was buried during World War II to avoid confiscation by the American Army. It was rescued in 1965 and restored to its former glory.

– 1963 Triumph Spitfire: This sleek car was once owned by Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. Now, it belongs to Saikat Dutta and remains a favorite in Kolkata’s vintage car circuit.

– Ford Anglia: Its a model to recognize for any Harry Potter fan. Subhas Bhowmick was the earlier owner of this beauty, and Amritendu Roy is proud of it now.

Included among these would be a 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III, a 1948 Buick Super 8, a 1965 Hillman Imp, and many other meticulously restored vehicles. An ultra-rare 1934 SS1 Tourer from the Shrivardhan Kanoria Collection has also been announced for the event.

The 90 vehicles vying for 39 trophies at EIMG Concours d’Elegance 2025 will be judged by a panel led by Shrivardhan Kanoria, a renowned collector and restorer. Criteria include authenticity, restoration quality, maintenance, historical significance, and rarity. The coveted Best of Show title will be the highlight of the awards ceremony.
