Outrage erupts at Siliguri Hosp after death of 7-yr-old; family alleges negligence, misconduct
An angry mob staged a protest at the entrance of Siliguri District Hospital today, following the tragic death of a seven-year-old boy.
The Kolkata Police have arrested an ambulance driver and a mechanic, who posed as a doctor, for the death of teenage boy.
The arrest took place on Friday.
According to The Indian Express news report, the condition of the patient deteriorated during the journey allegedly due to insufficient life support system at the ambulance and negligence on the part of the driver and the fake doctor. The fake doctor repairs AC machines.

As per media report, the air conditioning (AC) mechanic, who posed as a doctor, was hired for Rs 8,000 to accompany the teenager, Arjit Das, to a hospital in an ambulance.
Arijit, who was to give his board exams, was suffering from high fever and back pain. The minor boy was being rushed to a private hospital in Kolkata for treatment from a nursing home in Burdwan. The deceased was a resident of Nalhati in Birbhum district in Kolkata.
As per media reports, the family of the boy were not allowed to accompany him in the ambulance.
The arrest were made after the family members of the deceased grew suspicious with the behaviour of the fake doctor and filed a complaint at Jadavpur Police Station.
After the FIR was registered, the police nabbed the fake doctor and the driver of the ambulance. During the interrogation, the accused accepted that he was an AC mechanic and not a doctor.
