Haryana government has reserved four per cent of the posts or cadre in case of direct recruitment to Group A, B, C and D posts for persons with benchmark disabilities.

An official spokesman on Thursday said in case of direct recruitment to Group A, B, C and D posts or services, four percent of the posts would be reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities.

One per cent each would be reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities like blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing and locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy.

One per cent will be reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities like autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness and multiple disabilities from amongst persons including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disability. The spokesman said every department would identify posts in the Departments which could be held by respective category of persons with benchmark disabilities in respect of the vacancies reserved.

Besides it would constitute an expert committee with representation of persons with benchmark disabilities for identification of such posts. The spokesperson said if a post is identified suitable only for one category of disability, reservation in that post would be given to persons with that disability only.Reservation of four per cent would not be reduced in such cases and total reservation in the post would be given to persons suffering from the disability for which it has been identified.

Likewise in case the post is identified suitable for two categories of disabilities, reservation would be distributed between persons with those categories of disabilities equally, as far as possible. Meanwhile, Haryana government has decided to launch a special recruitment drive for Persons with Disability (PWD) and Eligible Sports Persons (ESP) in case of direct recruitment posts in Group D.

While stating this, a spokesman of General Administration Department said that all the Administrative Departments have been asked to send requisition of PWD and ESP in Group D (except for posts of Sweeper, Chowkidar and Sweeper-cum-Chowkidar) to Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
