To address the present-day predicament, where a dialogue with science is most pertinent, a three-day-long international seminar is being organized in Shimla beginning November 21.
“Science and Spirituality: Bridges of Understanding”, will be addressed by scholars from different disciplines of science and spirituality from their respective perspectives, an official of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, said on Sunday.
The seminar will be held at the IIAS.
Scholars from different religions and spiritual movements will represent Buddhism, Jainism, Shaivism, Vedanta, J Krishnamurti, Vivekananda, Tagore and others, and they are going to address the present-day predicament where a dialogue with science is most pertinent, the official added.
Besides, scientists representing physics, neuroscience, microbiology, medicine, psychology and cognitive science will enter into a dialogue with teachings and insights from the various religions and with spiritual experiences found also outside any tradition, he said.
On the first evening of the opening day, a music program with a performance of Rudraveena by the famous Dhrupad exponent Ustad Mohi Baha’ud’din Dagar will be open for guests as well, he added.
