Southwest monsoon to retreat from Odisha in next 2 days
The southwest monsoon has started to withdraw from the coastal state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s Bhubaneswar regional centre said on Sunday.
Stress was laid on the establishment agro-based industries in Balasore during review meeting conducted by the Industry Minister Ananta Das here.
Legislators, district collector Ramesh Rout, the additional district magistrate, Manas Ranjan Padhi and other officers were present at the review.
Nodal officers were directed to submit a report within two months to the department regarding viability of new industries in the district and revival possibilities of the sick units.

The stress was laid on the establishment of agro-based industries especially on food processing unit.
The sub-collector Sadar and Nilgiri while were made nodal officers of the respective subdivision would make a survey on the industries, be it large, medium and small scale, which are sick and possibility of their revival.
At the same time they would also study whether there is possibility of establishing new industries having viability.
Further, the officials were asked to make a survey to ensure whether there is scope of establishing more number salt manufacturing industries between Bhograi and Basudevpur of Bhadrak along the sea coast.
It may be noted Das is the MLA of Bhograi constituency and during recent reshuffling in ministry, he was given additional charge of industry along with his Higher education department.
