J&K CM Omar Abdullah lays stress on Himachal Pradesh-type laws to protect agricultural land
The Chief Minister noted that Himachal Pradesh has adopted a strict policy in this regard and stressed the adoption of a similar policy in J&K.

The Himachal Pradesh government on Monday simplified norms for getting approvals for buildings plan in 20 Municipal Council areas in the state and now all the clearances and approvals will be done through single window system.
A state government spokesperson said the decision to simplify norms under Town and Country Planning Act (TCP) was taken in a Cabinet meeting held here on Monday.

“In order to enable the people to get easy approvals for their building plans, the Cabinet approved delegation of powers of Director, TCP department to the Executive officers or Panchayat secretaries of the 20 Nagar Panchayats (Municipal Councils) which were governed by sub rules of Urban development department till date,” he said.

The spokesperson said the people of these urban local bodies will now get all the approvals and clearances through single window system and will not have to apply to TCP.
