J&K CM Omar Abdullah lays stress on Himachal Pradesh-type laws to protect agricultural land
The Chief Minister noted that Himachal Pradesh has adopted a strict policy in this regard and stressed the adoption of a similar policy in J&K.

Six minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted by the employees of an orphanage home in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, around 350 km from Shimla.
Police said that the incident came to light on Sunday during a legal literacy which was organised at Chilli shelter home in Tissa area of Chamba district.

During the event, one of the girls confided about the assault to a Child Welfare Committee member.

The authorities swung into action and a complaint was filed with the police after which three employees were arrested. The employees have also been suspended.
“During police investigations, five more girls complained of sexual harassment and all of them were sent for medical examination, which has confirmed that the girls were sexually assaulted,” Police said.
A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
