Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of not fulfilling the promises made during the assembly polls, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday called on the people of the state to get rid of the present regime.

Speaking at the launch of the “Jankranti Yatra” at Hodal in district Palwal, Hooda alleged that all sections of the society, farmers, workers, government employees, traders, homemakers and youth, were suffering because of the anti-people policies of the state government.

The situation in the state was going from bad to worse as the government was going against the promises made by them in their election manifesto, he added.

He said, “The BJP had promised to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks and Rs 15 Lakh would be paid to every bank account but now, the government is allowing some wealthy people to take away thousands of Crores of white money aboard. The government had promised to give one and half time the final cost price to the farmers but here too, the government has gone the other way. Farmers are not getting even half of what they got during the Congress regime. The government has repeatedly used force against farmers whenever they raise their demands, like they did a few days ago.”

The BJP had promised to regularize all temporary employees, but the ruling party has forgotten all about its promises as it has started to retrench these employees. The BJP has promised jobs to the youth of Haryana and in case the youth were not able to find gainful employment, they would be given a monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 9,000 but the truth was that the unemployed youth have neither got employment nor the unemployment allowance.

The government had promises the same pay scales as Punjab to government employees, but the BJP has forgotten all about its promises, he further added while accusing the BJP government of not safeguarding the interests of the common man.

Expressing concern about the grave law and order situation in the state, the former Chief Minister said there could be no bigger proof of the failing law and order in the state that the government had to pay Rs 22 crore to bring in para military forces for the rally addressed by BJP National President Amit Shah. He said a state government than can not even provide security to its national president has no moral right to remain in office for one day, calling for the resignation of the state government. Hooda said the government has been forced to call the Army and paramilitary forces four times in the last three and a half years. He added that the state was witness to massive flair-up in street violence and the government had to pay Rs 205 Crore for central forces.

H also took on the ruling BJP on the issues like Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) issue and the Dadupur-Nalwi canal.

Hooda called on Congress workers to take the message of Congress president Rahul Gandhi and former president Sonia Gandhi to every village and town in the state, telling the workers to prepare for the “Jankranti Yatra” which would be movement for bringing back the lost glory of the state.

Hooda had titles his “Rath Yatra” as “Jankranti Yatra” and he would visit all assembly segments of the state through this.
