In one of the biggest seizures of heroin in Fatehabad, Haryana Police has arrested a drug peddler from Bhuna and recovered 446-gram heroin, 3.2-kilogram ganja, Rs 11 lakh cash and currency counting machine from his possession. The value of seized heroin in the international market is around Rs 50 lakh.
Stating this here on Tuesday, a spokesman of the Police Department said that the arrested accused was identified as Aakash alias Rinku, a resident of Power House, Valmiki Mohalla, Bhuna. He was arrested by a team of crime investigation agency following a tip-off.
Divulging details about the seizure, he said that when the CIA team, after getting specific information, raided the accused house, he tried to run away with a bag in his hand.
The alert police immediately nabbed him at a short distance and recovered 446 grams of heroin and 3 kg 200-gram ganja from his possession. Police have also recovered Rs 11 lakh cash earned by the sale of narcotics and currency counting machine from the cupboard of the accused’s house.
During preliminary interrogation, the accused revealed that he had bought the seized narcotics from a Nigerian in Delhi.
A case under the provisions of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Bhuna Police Station. He would be taken on remand by producing in the court so that others involved in this racket of drug peddling could be unearthed.
Meanwhile, Director General of Police Manoj Yadava appreciated the efforts of SP Fatehabad, Vijay Pratap Singh and his entire team for constantly cracking down on drug-peddlers in the district.
He also urged the people to come forward fearlessly and share information about the sale and consumption of drug with the Police to help combat the drug menace in the society.
